Most of us know the old saying when making a purchase…

Pick Only Two: Good, Fast or Cheap: If it’s good and fast, it won’t be cheap. If it’s fast and cheap, it won’t be good. If it’s good and cheap, it won’t be fast.

But when it comes to making your business successful, it’s important that you focus on just ONE: Good, Fast or Cheap, or more appropriately, Quality, Convenience or Price.

A business that tries to be more than one of these will not succeed. Can a business have the best quality AND the lowest price? Nope. But McDonald's has the lowest price AND is super convenient, right? Also nope. Their focus is convenience. You can get a lot more value for your money at the grocery store.

Let’s say you want to open a burger restaurant. Do you want to offer an upscale dining experience with gourmet burgers? Then your focus is quality. Do you want to offer fast service, easy online ordering, delivery and pickup? Then your focus is Convenience. Do you want to offer the best deal in town? Then your focus is price.

Pick one and be great at it!

Your focus should be your brand. What problem does your target market have that your business can solve? Are they looking for a unique date night experience, in a hurry or on a budget? Your marketing, branding and advertising should match your focus in order to attract your customers.
